"One of the greatest Torah scholars of our generation" !!!
Sent to us by a Sydney reader:
Hi, this is from this week's issue of the Sydney AJN.Just in case you Melbournians were wondering who has recently joined the ranks of the gedolei Hador!
If you take "Torah" in the very limited sense of "torah shebichsav", she is indeed one of the greatest scholars in the world today; I wouldn't be surprised if she knows Tanach better than all three of the gentlemen you named. Gemoro, not so much.
If you take the time to read some of Avivah's writings, you will see that she is capable of providing an incredibly complex and thoughtful parshanut on the torah. See here for an example: http://www.matan.org.il/content.asp?id=203
Has anyone else heard of this lady?
ReplyDeleteShould Rav Elyashiv, Rav Wosner and Rav Chaim Kanievsky be a little bit apprehensive about their positions?

ReplyDeleteIs she orthodox? And is how can she share the stage with Reform types?
